Introductions- New Author, Abby Wilson

I'm the eldest of eight children, and I'm fifteen and in Grade 10 homeschool. (Is that too young to write?) I believe in a Biblical model of a home- where the father leads and loves, the mother follows and submits, and where the children are raised to be mighty arrows. I think it's safest and best for young women to stay at home until they marry(and it's good for guys to live at home until they marry, too). I made the 'major shift' to wearing skirts 99.9% of the time(except for sometimes at home or when swimming), and believe in godly courtship/betrothal. I am trying, by the Holy Spirit, to be modest, discreet, ladylike, feminine, sweet, gentle, peaceful, kind, loving. Of course none of those are perfected yet but one day, which I look forward to, in heaven, they will be! I believe the best thing ever is an intimate relationship with the LORD. I also believe that the highest calling for a mother is to be raising her children at home! As for my interests, I enjoy writing, sewing, dancing, photography, music-making(I play the violin and piano), playing with my siblings, singing with my family, babysitting, spending time with family and friends, having wonderful, long, conversations, going for walks, skiing, reading, and drawing. I work part-time for my grandpa, helping him with his accounting-for-disabled-people business. I'd love to work for my dear dad, but right now he doesn't have his own business but wants to have a family business so we can all be together more. We're living with my maternal grandparents because we haven't yet found a house(we moved back last year from living in another town for nearly two years). Late July to early September, my Grandma was in the hospital because she had a bowel perforation. Long story made short, she was in ICU for 2 weeks, in a coma for approx. 10 days, had about 6 surgeries, and had 6 doctors say she was a total miracle because there was less than a 50% chance of her survival. So right now we're caring for her(she's getting stronger!) and my grandpa, who is a quad.

Another Intro

Hello dear sisters in Christ!
My name is Laura May Davidson. Most of my friends call me Laura though. I am 21 years old and was home schooled all my life till I graduated May 23, 2005! I was born in Arlington, VA on May 13, 1986 :) I lived in Virginia the first 5 years of my life and then we moved to La Plata, MD cause of Dad’s job in August 1991 :)
I am the daughter of Brian and Paula Davidson. I was born 5 years after my parents were married.

I have 4 younger siblings: Angela is 18 and just graduated home school in May. She is attending the University of AL in Huntsville :) for nursing. She is also teaching piano lessons :) she took over for her teacher while her teacher was on maternity leave :) Now her teacher is about to come back. She has a boyfriend that is really nice and gets along well with our family. His name is Andrew and he will turn 21 in October. They have been seeing each other since January I think. But they were just friends back then.

Amy is 14 and going into the 9th grade. She and I work in our church nursery most Sundays for the Sunday school hour. She also bakes a lot of Wednesdays for our college group at church. She is good at it I think.

Thomas is 12 and our only brother :) he is going into 7th grade. He and Dad are pretty much best friends. They do a lot together. Thomas plays baseball in the spring and greatly enjoys that. Thomas has always been what mom calls “all boy”.

Anna is our “baby” of the family. :) She is 6 years old. She is starting 1st grade :) she is a pretty social person. Pretty much where ever we go she is always making new friends :) she and our kitten Jack are best friends. She also loves babies and baby dolls. :)

I accepted Christ as my savior when I was 6 years old. But since then when I was 16 and even later than that I have recommitted my life to Him. Through all the trials in life He has stood by me….even when I was unfaithful.

My favorite things: completing a project like an afghan that I have knitted long and hard on, reading a well written book (really too many to list, but Beverly Lewis and Wanda Brunstetter are a few favorites), eating good food, spending time with family that I rarely get to see, sleeping late, writing letters and e-mails, and finding lots of letters when you come home from a long vacation, or an inbox full of personal e-mails :) and there is nothing like holding a newborn baby :) I am sure that babies bring the most joy in life :)

I guess I should probably write more about me. Though sometimes I really have no idea what to say. I just recently started a new job as a home attendant I work in elderly people’s homes caring for the people and their houses :) I enjoy it pretty well so far. But I still like babies better. But it is interesting to hear the old people talk about their life and all. My one great desire in life is to marry the wonderful man that God has for me and raise a big family :) I will look forward to getting to know you all better! :)

Of an introductory nature...

Hello pilgrims,

It was never my intention to be the last to jump aboard and introduce myself, but, alas, here I am, chiming in very late indeed!

I am Danielle Carey, a soon-to-turn-27-year-old living at home with my family--my parents Wayne and Catherine, my sister Lauren (22), and little brother Tain (9). My other precious sister, Andrea (24), married Sam last year and this year turned us into grandparents, aunts, and uncles, adding darling Amelia Kate to the family. My big little bro Nick lives and works in Western Australia, where we lived before we moved here to Queensland in April this year.

Although we're still settling in after our big move interstate (we're getting used to this, as it becomes increasingly obvious that Dad is a gypsy at heart), I keep busy editing my publication for women of faith, Whatsoever Magazine, and my newsletter for Christian young writers, Words from the Heart. I'm passionate about encouraging young women to find their purpose in Him and am so excited that through these publications I've met some amazing and sold-out women of God.

I love: writing, hunting out the best children's books, keeping a journal, checking the mail, squishing my baby niece, eating chocolate, laughing with my sister, exploring used bookstores, movie nights with my family, and music that points me to the heart of God.

I look forward to getting to know you each better, and cherishing this upward journey with you!
