A Mayden is... List

This next year, we are going to study the Mayden's character list. They are:

A Mayden is:
Respectful
Trustworthy
Thrifty
Wise
Kind
Honorable
Clean
Content
Beautiful
JOYFUL
Godfearing
Hospitable
Creative
Modest
Feminine
Forgiving
Successful
A Healer
A Missionary
A Teacher
A Student
A Servant
A Warrior
A Lover
This is what we will be touching in the next year or so, and so, we hope you will join us, as we study these character traits, that we need to adopt!
If you find something missing from the list, please tell me, and I will add it!

Great list Laura. Perhaps we could add God-fearing as well in there? (Unless that is included in respectful - i.e. she respects/honours the Lord.) "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised." Prov 31:30 :)

At the risk of getting myself into trouble, I would add "chaste" and "pure" to that list. Chastity as important mark of love of God, love of self, and love of one's future husband. Purity being thought that respects the human dignity of men and shows love of God and love of others.

Perhaps, also, I might add loyal. As is said in Washington, "Loyalty is the coin of the realm." It also is the complete opposite of gossip, which can often disintegrate into the sin of detraction.

Of course the cardinal virtues are prudence, temperance, justice, and fortitude,

The capital virtues are
humility
liberality
brotherly love
meekness
chastity
temperance
diligence

Of course, the theological virtues are faith hope and charity (caritas).

If we are proceeding from the assumption that the maiden is a virtuous Christian, we ought to assume that she posseses all three sets of these virtues. I don't know if this is helpful or of use- but hope it can help you in your discussion.

Laura, Thank you. Do recall that where I live in Connecticut, these are terrible politically incorrect things to say.

I'm glad you will talk about them next year and look forward to hearing what you all have to say.
Yours in Christ, James
